Vince Johnson is the Publisher of the Forsyth County News, a three-day per week newspaper in Cumming, Ga. – 30 miles north of Atlanta. With a background in digital innovation and video, as well as overall audience and revenue growth, Vince often trains others on how to integrate digital into today’s newsroom.

The Forsyth County News won the Mega-Innovation Award for newspapers at the 2016 Mega-Conference in Austin, Tx.

Prior to being named publisher in January 2014, Vince led digital teams at the Santa Clarita Signal (Cali.) and the Statesboro Herald (Ga.). He was the chief multimedia officer at the Santa Clarita Valley Signal and was the director of audio/video operations for the Statesboro Herald, part of Morris Multimedia.

Johnson has held industry and community leadership positions throughout his career. He and his previous organizations have been recognized for innovation and leadership excellence in SNPA, The Associated Press, Georgia Press, California Press and Inland Press Association.

Johnson holds a bachelor of arts in journalism and mass communication from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., graduating cum laude. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and grew up in Oklahoma, Tennessee and Alabama. The Forsyth County News is owned by Swartz-Morris Media Inc., headquartered in Cumming.
